Early clouds to hold temps back again
by Dave Hovde, KSBY Meteorologist

A look at the visible satellite picture this morning shows a lot of cloud cover at the Central Coast and even some of the interior valleys of northern SLO county. This will keep temps below normal for most today despite anticipated clearing. Highs from the 60s at the beaches to the mid 70s in the coastal valleys while interior valleys again top out interior valleys will try to reach the lower 80s today. The Southcoast which is already experiencing some sun should get into the lower 70s. West winds around 15 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight looks mostly clear in the evening then areas of low clouds and fog. Lows in the lower to mid 50s. Northwest winds around 15 mph in the evening.
Thursday we expect a little better wind flow with high pressure trying to build a bit, this should allow faster marine clearing and slightly better temperatures with beaches into the mid 60s while coastal valleys reach the mid to upper 70s and the interior makes a run at 90. West winds around 15 mph in the afternoon could even reach peaks up to 25 miles per hour in the early evening before diminishing.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear in the evening then areas of low clouds and fog. Breezy early.
Friday and into the weekend we’ll still see areas of morning marine clouds followed by clearing with beaches in the mid 60s and coastal valleys in the mid 70s with the interior warming up to the mid to upper 90s through Saturday as a high pressure ridge tries to re-establish itself from the east. However Sunday into early next week that re-building ridge loses it’s strength and the temps fall back to about 90 with the coast roughly near seasonal norms.
